5 MOVIES YOU MUST SEE BEFORE THE YEAR ENDS


The year is gradually coming to a close and sometimes just when you think you’ve seen it all, you probably get hit by a movie you won’t regret seeing. Here is a list of 5 movies we think you should definitely see before the end of 2012, in no particular order.   1. THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY (DEC 14) A curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug. Director: Peter Jackson Stars: Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: Why not? i mean we’ve all been waiting for this film since the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy eneded so we’re all excited to see what Jackson has in store for us.     2. ZERO DARK THIRTY (DEC 21) A chronicle of the decade-long hunt for al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden after the 9/11 attacks, and his death at the hands of the Navy SEAL Team 6 in May, 2011. Director: Kathryn Bigelow Stars: Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: Well, did you see POINT BREAK and HURT LOCKER? Well, ’nuff said, Bigelow always delivers and this one should be just as good.       3. DJANGO UNCHAINED (DEC 28) With the help of his mentor, a slave-turned-bounty hunter sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner. Director: Quentin Tarantino Stars: Jamie Foxx, Don Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: It’s a Tarantino movie, it’s starring Jamie Foxx, Leonardo Dicaprio and Christophe Waltz, it’s a western directed by Tarantino and we finally get to see Leo as a bad guy again.       4. LES MISERABLES (DEC 28) An adaptation of the successful stage musical based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel set in 19th-century France, in which a paroled prisoner named Jean Valjean seeks redemption. Director: Tom Hooper Stars: Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: Victor Hugo’s classic is finally coming to the big screen in this century and its starring Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe and you want to miss it? Be my guest.       5. KILLING THEM SOFTLY (NOV 30) Jackie Cogan is a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that went down during a mob-protected poker game. Director: Andrew Dominik Stars: Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, Richard Jenkins, Scoot McNairy WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH IT: Well no particular reason really; i just thought you’d want to know how tough blondie looks weilding a shotgun.
