With nine nominations, Nigeria clinched five plaques at the recently held Mtv Africa music awards in Kenya with MI bouncing J H.O.V.A and Kanye West to pick the best hip hop act award. Mister incredible also won in the best new act category. D’ Banj, 2face and P- square won artiste of the year, best R&B act and best performer awards respectively. Even though Kel, Darey, Bigiano and Mo’ hits all- stars failed to win this is still a testimony to the way Nigerian music is way up there right now. I am so glad that the days of ‘Remedy music’ is dead and buried. I wonder why that cool vid from MI wasn’t nominated; that one’s a winner. Anyways, kudos peeps, Africa has your attention and the world is finally listening.

It’s movie premieres all the way in ‘Nollywood.’ After the successful premieres of Stephanie Okereke’s Through the glass and Kunle Afolayan’s The figurine, Emem Isong is delivering a set of twins; on film that is. The plump producer is releasing Guilty pleasures (starring Ramsey Nouah and Omoni Oboli) and Nollywood hustlers (starring Uche Jombo and Ejike Asiegbu) in Lagos and Abuja. Make sure you check them out.

The new president of the actors guild of Nigeria (AGN), Segun Arinze is going to make his first action in office the reconciliation of disgruntled factions. That’s going to be tough o, uncle Sege, knowing that most actors just like to be disgruntled. Anyways, the folks here at THE CHAMBER love it that Arinze is the new president because we believe he’s one of the few actors in Nigeria that want to get rid of this whole ‘Nollywood’ farce to pave way for a better and more creative movie industry. Go get ‘em bro!

THROUGH THE GLASS has raked in about N10m from the Nigerian box- office so far. The movie has been well received from movie buffs including us here at THE CHAMBER. It’s a critical success as well and we are so proud of Steph. Thanks for giving us a breath of fresh air with this touch of class.

NAETO C expressed total excitement after he performed at his first thank God first Thursday (TGFT) organised by Silverbird galleria. The October edition was special in a lot of ways including the fact that it was also Independence day. On this debut, the world famous academy graduate rocked the stage with the likes of Sasha and MI.
